BEFORE today’s semi-final against Andy Murray, world No.1 Rafa Nadal will have a pain-killing ­injection – two if he hears Judy is turning up.

Nadal revealed after his quarter-final win over Mardy Fish that he will have to put his injured foot to sleep before the clash with the Scot – never a good idea because it won’t be able to sleep tonight.

Nadal doesn’t expect it to inconvenience him against Murray, who is roughly the same odds now to win Wimbledon as he was when the tournament started – back in the 1800s.


Nadal, in appearance a warring Apache, has the Indian sign over the Scot, having beaten him 11 times in 15 meetings.

Tennis players always have one dreaded opponent they can never beat.

But the Irishman, with Tiger Woods on lady-gardening leave, had no clearly-defined world No.1 to topple. Murray, on the other hand, must beat a world No.1 who has forgotten how to lose at Wimbledon.

Nadal (below), 1-2 to beat Murray, is 9-4 to win in straight sets and that’s the kind of bet I love – one that’s gonna cop.

The Spaniard is 2-1 with Paddy Power to be shown adjusting his pants during the first set. He’s about 1-2 to be shown adjusting Pippa Middleton’s pants.

That’s assuming she wears any, and that he hasn’t already given them back to her.
