Argentina vs Colombia. ARGENTINA WILL be facing Colombia in an all important match in their group A encounter during Copa America 2011 in Santa Fe.  The match is scheduled to be played on Wednesday. Argentina drew their first match, 1-1 with Bolivia whereas Colombia won their match against Costa Rica with a score line, 1- 0.

The host for the tournament, Argentina, are also one of the favourites to lift aloft the Copa America 2011 trophy. Colombia are said to be the dark horse for the tournament. Argentina did not play up to the mark in their first match against Bolivia, where they disappointed fans across the world as they were supposed to be playing entertaining style of football and fascinating the crowd. But, they failed to do so as their best player, Messi looked out of touch. The other top players such as Carlos Tevezand, Ezequiel Lavezzi could not deliver the goods. Though, Sergio Aguero scored a goal, but the team overall looked weak.


The match is considered to be a very important game for Argentina as they might not qualify for the next round if they fail to win their match against Argentina. The Argentinean team is surely going to be tested by Colombia, who have some major players in their ranks such as Falcao and Cristian Zapata who could create some trouble for Argentina. Falcao might be able to exploit the Argentinean defence if he has a good day on the field. Colombia should not allow Messi to play freely in the field. He should be tightly guarded.

Inspite of Argentina’s lacklustre performance in their first match, they seem to be in a buoyant mood as they would like to showcase their skills against Colombia and bring the tournament to life. Sergio Batista, the coach of Argentina, does not want to make any changes in the team that played in the first match. He expects the same team to beat the Colombian side.

The match is surely going to be watched around the world with great interest, as players like Messi would be involved in creating some magic with their feet; Messi has earned a name for himself around the globe for his footwork.
