Shakhtar Donetsk beat AS Roma 3-1 on 16 February 2011 at the Olimpico Stadium im Rome, for the First Leg of the UEFA Champions League Knockout Stages.
AS Roma went ahead through Simone Perrota, who scored in the 27th minute but Shakhtar Donetsk's Jadson, Costa and Adriano scored three away goals in 12 minutes to stun Roma and take the advantage after the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie. Finally, Menez scored in the 61th minute to save an aparently better result.
