Kenny Dalglish's side are aiming to move into seventh spot with a win over Fulham at Anfield. Liverpool are currently 11th in the table with 29 points from 23 matches (8 wins, 5 draws, 10 defeats). Fulham, meanwhile, can leapfrog their opponents in the table with a victory on Merseyside. The Cottagers are 15th with 26 points. Kenny Dalglish wants to taste the victory at home since his return as managger and repeat the fantastic display in the last match, beating Wolves 3-0. Something possble considering that The Cottagers have been dreadful away from home for several seasons and have the unenviable record of never having won at Liverpool in their entire history.
Steven Gerrard is available again after missing three games through suspension but his return brings a headache for Dalglish because Raul Meireles was the architect in the victory against Wolves. However, Liverpool boss could include both key men in his starting line-up. Dalglish may be tempted to freshen things up and give a run-out to Joe Cole, who was an unused substitute at the weekend due to a persistent ankle problem. Jovanovic could also return to the squad after missing the match at Molineux because of illness. Jamie Carragher continues to miss out because of a dislocated shoulder.
Fulham's defender Philippe Senderos is battling to recover his best from after suffering an ankle problem. Mark Hughes' side are also sweating over the fitness of Dickson Etuhu and Aaron Hughes after the pair picked up hamstring problems in the win over Stoke. Steve Sidwell, who came off the bench against Stoke, is on standby to make his full debut for Fulham should Etuhu miss out. Zamora suffer a long-term absence due to a broken leg. However, not all are bad news at Fulham: Clint Dempsey, who has been in impressive form for Fulham this season, are ready to give a surprise at Anfield.
